About Me

Cecilia Pinto

I want my work to be joyful. I am inspired by the cityscape and the natural world. I take inspiration from a wide range of artistic work created by musicians, painters, architects and visual artists of all kinds but I always come back to the writer and the book.

Imagine the Dog

Ricky Rudolph believes that he has been called to offer hope and healing to others by impersonating Jesus. He loves officiating at weddings but his own life is a complicated mess including financial difficulties and a mounting suspicion on the part of law enforcement that he is involved in the abduction of a little girl. He lusts after Beatta who won’t give him the time of day and he can’t get away from this kid named France who keeps showing up and asking for his help. Things only get more challenging when Linda, his pregnant, seventeen year old daughter shows up. It’s hard to keep the faith when life gets in your way.

Imagine the Dog is rewarding for its combination of sharp observation and forgiving wit. It’s a very inviting debut.
